Crafted by visionary watchmaker Vincent Plomb, the "Tycho Brahe T2 Blue" pays homage to the legendary astronomer Tycho Brahe through its inviting display of terrestrial time.
The off-center time display features a rich blue dial is dominated by a deep underneath luminous steel hands and applied indexes. A date window exists at the 3 o'clock position adjusted through the upper crown. But it is the rotating, hand-painted three-dimensional titanium Earth globe that truly sets the Tycho Brahe apart — a ingenious proprietary complication that completes one full revolution every 24 hours. This miniature world indicates, at a glance, the location where the sun is at its zenith (noon), while two small clear sapphire indicators highlight the zones experiencing 6 o'clock in the morning and evening, transforming the watch into a poetic GMT and solar time companion. The globe's subtle interplay with the surrounding rhodium-plated "moon" crescent adds a layer of celestial poetry to the composition.
The reverse side reveals an additional view of the globe adjacent to the modified ETA 2982 which beats at 4 Hz and carries a power reserve of 42 hours.
The Grade 5 Titanium case measures 42.8mm x 11.7 x 51.6mm lug-to-lug. Furnished on a dark brown Alligator strap and an Navy Calfskin strap with titanium VincenTerra titanium pin buckle. Complete with Box & Papers dated November 5th, 2018. Special Edition #4/99.
