Carved into the Mt. Rushmore of watches with "wrist presence" is this UR-220 SL "Asimov". Time is indicated by way of a hollow retrograding minute hand which frames the hours cast in molded cubes of Super-LumiNova Grade X1 luminescence. While orbiting the center of the watch, each cube eventually makes a quarter rotation to display the next hour. Power reserve indicators reside in the upper right and left corner. When winding, the PR indicator on the upper left begins to advance towards green once the hand belonging to the PR indicator on the upper right has reached its limit.
The reverse side reveals the further genius of Urwerk, presenting an Oil Change Indicator which chronicles how many months of continuous operation the watch has experienced. The rollers begin at 0 months and advances as the months of use pass by. It can be seen that this watch has been active for just 5 months in total, representing potentially another 34 months of continuous activity before requiring service. When the time finally comes to submit this watch for service, the team at Urwerk will reset the counters and twist the initiator. The caseback is crafted in Titanium which has been DLC coated.
The Carbon CTP (Carbon Thin Ply) case measures 53.6mm x 43.8mm x 14.8mm and is in excellent condition. Complete with Box & Papers.
