Horology By The Sea is proud to present a lovely example of the Model 42 Pilot Dual Time, a rare find from the legendary Paul Gerber who is attributed for crafting the world’s most complicated timepiece.
At its heart lies Gerber’s Caliber 42, a modified ETA 2824 movement powered by a ménage à trois of solid 18 karat gold synchronized rotors visible through the sapphire caseback. This ingenious triple-rotor system is a hallmark of Gerber’s innovative spirit and unconventional creativity. Resting between the movement and the dial is a 24 hour module which can be adjusted through the crown.
The black dial features Superluminova indexes and hands for excellent night time legibility and the oversized date display was designed to be as large as possible.
The Titanium Case measures 42mm x 12mm x 48mm lug-to-lug and is in excellent condition. Furnished with the original signed titanium Paul Gerber buckle and OEM black calfskin strap with white stitching. Complete with Box & Papers dated September 1st, 2020.
The Model 42 (aka Ref. 420) was officially discontinued in 2022 and rarely is seen available for sale.
