Presenting a very Special Edition made exclusively for Horology By The Sea. For this Special Edition of 10 pieces, Habring²'s incredible Chrono-Felix Top Seconds has been upgraded with "Globetrotter" complication for extra utility.
At first glance, the watch reads as an ordinary chronograph where the top pusher allows to Start/Stop while the bottom pusher is for Reset... but this only a visual trick! In fact, this is a 30-minute monopusher chronograph (Start/Stop/Reset with top pusher) while the bottom pusher adjusts the red hand indicating the 2nd Timezone found on the bezel.
The third complication is Top Seconds: a little Easter Egg with purpose! A quick and easy way to ensure the watch is operating - while the chronograph is asleep - is made by way of a propeller with painted red blades spinning underneath the dial once every 5 seconds. A small aperture at 9 o'clock reveals every 2.5 seconds the "blinking red dot" as a friendly indication your watch is running. This little Easter Egg adds a visually appealing animation to the dial while remaining somewhat hidden and unobtrusive.
The reverse side reveals Habring²s in-house A11C caliber operating at 4 Hz and with a power reserve of 48 hours. The escapement is fitted with a Carl Haas hairspring providing anti-magnetic properties and is of Chronometer quality. The caseback is individually numbered with the edition number.
The Stainless Steel case measures 41mm x 12mm thick x 46mm lug-to-lug. For this Special Edition I've called on the artisans at Mill Handmade of Australia to provide each watch with a leather strap made of Arctic Elk with olive green lining underneath. And since a great strap deserves an equally awesome buckle, we've teamed up with with Fitwell Buckles who has created a patent pending buckle allowing up to 3mm of micro-adjustment without the use of tools.
