Few pieces command the gravitational pull as the Vianney Halter Deep Space Tourbillon, a masterpiece that shifts the narrative from mere timekeeping to a philosophical exploration of our four-dimensional universe. Born from Halter’s fascination with both the marine chronometers of the past and the sci-fi odysseys of his youth, this marvel of watchmaking serves as a literal stage for a mesmerizing triple-axis central tourbillon. Unlike traditional movements, the in-house Calibre VH113 places the tourbillon at the very heart of the watch, encased under a monumental 40.6mm sapphire dome that offers an unobstructed view of its desynchronized, multi-axial ballet. The mechanism is a mechanical wonder: the innermost cage containing the balance wheel completes a revolution every 40 seconds, while the second axis—positioned perpendicularly—rotates every 6 minutes, and the entire assembly is suspended within a cradle that completes a full circuit every 30 minutes. This 317-component movement, beating at a steady 21,600 v.p.h., is a triumph of engineering that requires immense energy management, yet it maintains a robust 60-hour power reserve through its manual-winding architecture.

The Deep Space Tourbillon is as much about the absence of traditional structure as it is about its presence, utilizing curved, peripheral hands that arc over a solid silver dial ring to indicate the hours and jumping minutes. In this special example, the hands and indices were heated purple instead of the customary blue. This peripheral display ensures that the kinetic sculpture at the center remains the focus, framed by a lightweight titanium case that keeps the total weight to a mere 90 grams. Every detail, from the signature "rivet" crown—a nod to Halter’s steampunk-inspired Futur Antérieur collection—to the hand-sewn goat leather strap, speaks to a level of artisanal finish. Indeed in 2013, the jury of the GPHG recognized Mr. Halter and the fascinating Deep Space Tourbillon with the Innovation Prize at the GPHG.

The titanium case measures 46mm x 40.5mm x 46mm lug-to-lug and is in mint condition. Furnished on an OEM black goat leather strap with hornback alligator inserts with a titanium VH signed folding buckle. Original Box, Polishing cloth and Booklet. This Deep Space Tourbillon was purchased direct from Vianney Halter June of 2022.
