Emerging from the depths of Finnish folklore and the creative mind of Stepan Sarpaneva, the Näkki Special Edition is the ultimate blend of Sarpaneva's signature complication and colorful animation.
Beneath rose gold colored hands lies an impossibly complex, 7-layer hand-finished stainless steel dial featuring over 650 intricate cutouts depicting the aquatic myth of the Näkki. Rendered by artist Ville Tietäväinen and hand-painted using an extraordinary palette of 15 distinct shades of Swiss Super-LumiNova®, the dial transforms from a subtle, intricate relief by day into a fantastic luminous kaleidoscope as night falls.
The reverse side reveals the Soprod A10 calibre which runs at 4Hz and delivers a power reserve of 42 hours upgraded in-house to seamlessly integrate Sarpaneva’s signature 29.5-day moonphase complication directly into the mainplate. Atop the rhodium-plated movement finished with perlage is a lovely skeletonized steel winding rotor featuring white gold weights and Sarpaneva’s unmistakable, haunting Moonface motif complete with orange lumed eyes.
The Stainless Steel case measures 42mm x 11.4mm x 46mm lug-to-lug and is in excellent condition. Furnished on an OEM brown alligator strap with Sarpaneva stainless steel pin buckle. Complete with Box & Certificate dated August 22nd, 2023. Serial #1 of a 30 piece Special Edition.
