Horology By The Sea is thrilled to present this pre-owned example of Stefan Kudoke's second addition to the "Handwerk" (handcraft) collection, the GPHG award-winning Kudoke 2.
The focal point of the blue dial is the hand-engraved sky disc positioned prominently at 12 o’clock, which serves as a 24-hour indication. Unlike standard day/night indicators that often utilize a simple printed disc, this is a three-dimensional, rotating domed disc engraved in relief by hand. The sun is plated in yellow gold, while the moon and stars are rhodium-plated, set against a coarse, electroplated anthracite background to rotate in sync with the time on a 24-hour cycle. Underneath Kudoke's infinity-shaped hour hand and lancet-shaped minute hand is the dial finely grained to diffuse light evenly across the surface. Framing the layout is an elevated, brushed, and rhodium-plated minute chapter ring featuring diamond-cut bevels and Roman numerals at the quarter markers.
The reverse side reveals Kudoke's manually wound Kaliber 1-24H, operating at a frequency of 4Hz and offering a 46-hour power reserve. The bridges are finished using a traditional Reibfläche (friction-grinding) technique, resulting in a fine, granular frosted texture that contrasts sharply against the mirror-polished bevels along the bridge edges. Adding a touch of bespoke artistry, the balance cock is individually hand-engraved with a delicate floral pattern, ensuring every single movement is unique.
The Stainless Steel case measures 39mm x 11.7mm x 46.5mm lug-to-lug and is in excellent condition. Furnished on an OEM brown suede calfskin strap with signed stainless steel pin buckle. Complete with Box and Papers dated July 2023.
