Horology By The Sea is proud to present an exceptional creation by Grieb & Benzinger, housing a spectacular vintage Patek Philippe pocket watch movement. This timepiece represents a rare marriage of historical haute horlogerie and contemporary artistic mastery.
The heart of this watch is a Patek Philippe signed manual-wind movement, its serial number placing its construction sometime between 1905 and 1910. Every bridge and plate has been transformed by Mr. Benzinger with hand-applied skeletonization, classic guilloché patterns executed on historical rose engines, and striking blue platinum coating.
A Maltese Cross mechanism is viewable dial side to prevent overwinding while improving isochronism. My favorite detail, the teeth of both the crown wheel and ratchet wheel feature incredible "wolf's teeth" profile which are visually stunning and a hallmark of true haute horology. Printed on the underneath side of the sapphire crystal is the Grieb & Benzinger logo. Inscribed on the dial is "Schloss Dätzingen", which references the historic castle in Grafenau Germany dating back to the 14th century.
