As a breathtaking synthesis of traditional Swedish blacksmithing and haute horlogerie, the Winter Nights special edition from GoS Watches captures the stark beauty of Scandinavian winter landscapes in a truly singular timepiece. Handcrafted by master bladesmith Johan Gustafsson and watchmaker Patrik Sjögren, each piece in this series stands as a individual masterpiece of artisanal steelwork, ensuring that no two dials are ever identical.
On the dial side, the canvas consists of 192 layers of Swedish tool steels, hand-forged, folded, and etched by Gustafsson to reveal GoS' dramatic wildflower pattern that shifts fluidly in changing light. Surrounding the Damascus dial is a hand-shaped and hand-polished solid 18K gold index ring with integrated hour markers. Solid 18 karat gold hands sweep above the dial, anchored by a center seconds hand, while the signature GoS triskele in motif in solid gold is fixed onto the dial at the 6 o'clock position.
Flipping the watch over reveals the exquisite GoS02 caliber, a manually wound mechanical movement based on the Technotime TT718 architecture and adjusted to COSC chronometer standards. The movement operates at 4Hz and delivers a power reserve of 120 hours across twin barrels. The deep, hand-polished beveled edges strikes a brilliant counterpoint to the rugged organic metalwork of the watch face.
The case is constructed from a hybrid of high-gloss polished stainless steel and hand-forged stainless damascus steel, complemented by a prominent 9mm Damascus steel crown featuring intricate hand-filed decorative edging reminiscent of traditional Scandinavian custom knifemaking. The case measures 43mm x 10mm x 51mm lug-to-lug and is in excellent condition. Furnished on an OEM black moose leather strap with GoS signed steel pin buckle. Complete with Box & Papers dated February 21st, 2023. Serial #4 of 6 total pieces.
