Inspired by the ancient Viking swords unearthed in Fullerö, Sweden, this newest GoS release is endowed with a Damascus steel dial hand-forged by master bladesmith, Conny Persson. For this project, Conny created the dial in the traditional way of its era with a few modern twists. To create the dial, two types of forged steel rods comprising of 17 layers are twisted around their axis. Unlike the swords of the past, a thin layer of nickel is added between each layer to improve the aesthetics.
Never satisfied, Patrik compliments the incredible dial with an index ring made of solid sapphire crystal. Hour indexes are marked through machining of the inner chamfer while minute markers are on the outer chamfer. Beyond the sapphire ring lies a white luminescent circlet, partially set within the interior of the case. During the day the sapphire ring is clear, refracting light and creating a bewitching luster. When the sun falls, the luminescent circlet behind the sapphire ring emits a rich orange glow, reminiscent of intensely hot steel when being forged. This distinctive orange emission, created exclusively for GoS Watches, is achieved using 3D Lumicast Technology.
The bezel and caseback are enlivened with the GoS braided motif featuring polished and satin finished surfaces. The braiding of the bezel is inlaid with black enamel.
The watch is powered by the La Joux-Perret caliber G101, personalized to GoS’s specifications with Anthracite color bridges with Côtes de Genève striping. The G101 operates at 4 Hz and delivers a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. The rotor for this Glowing Steel version is colored with orange nano-ceramics and has the GoS emblem in silver finish.
The Stainless Steel case measures 41.5mm x 11mm and 49mm lug-to-lug. WR to 5ATM. Furnished on a Moose leather strap with an embossed GoS braiding pattern and GoS Damascus stainless steel pin buckle. Delivered in a GoS box in hardwood and canvas where the wood has been treated to resemble black oak and furnished with a 5 Year Warranty.
