Dijkman Watches "Versum" Special Edition - Serial #13/250 (Arriving Summer 2026)

Horology By The Sea is proud to introduce the extraordinary work of Mr. Holke Dijkman, an Independent Watchmaker hailing from the Netherlands. We pride ourselves on bringing you the most compelling works from the world's finest independent watchmakers and the "Versum" is exactly that. Its very name, Versum (Latin for "reversed"), hints at the glorious, playful complexity within.

Holke Dijkman, a man with a rich background from tool-making to working alongside legends like Christiaan van der Klaauw, decided to flip the script—literally. To allow the reversed Unitas 6497 movement to display time correctly, Holke designed and created an entirely new system of 14 handmade gears. What you see is the 'back' of the movement, showcased through an open dial.

Lacquered blue hour and minute hands are mounted with posts onto their respective wheels and appear to seemingly float over the concentric chapter rings and gear train. Either Roman Numerals or Arabic Numerals can be requested for the hour chapter. As a special request from our store, Mr. Dijkman has plated the minute chapter with an anthracite color to provide additional visual intrigue to the dial. Though it's unlikely you will ever use it, the backside of the watch reveals a second indication of the time expressed through a singular hour hand, echoing the time on the front! 

The manually wound movement carries a power reserve of approximately 47 hours and a view of the balance wheel beating at 2.5Hz can be viewed through the large aperture of the dial. The Stainless Steel case measures 42mm x 14.5mm x 50.5mm lug-to-lug and is 50M WR. Furnished on a 20mm grained Calfskin strap with a Dijkman signed deployant buckle and an additional signed pin buckle. An additional Slate Grey Suede strap from Molequin will also be included.
