This extraordinary timepiece brilliantly synthesizes centuries-old horological history with modern manufacturing mastery by combining a wandering hours mechanism with a jumping seconds seconds complication. At the heart of the dial sits the central time-carrousel, a magnificent wheel crafted in solid 18-karat rose gold that supports three rotating sapphire discs printed with the jumping hour numerals.As the carrousel orbits, the active hour numeral floats across an arc stretching from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock which is crafted from mother-of-pearl. An arrow printed on the sapphire disc precisely indicates the current minute along the graduated track.
Perfectly contrasting the slow, poetic motion of the wandering hours is the central jumping seconds hand, which advances in crisp, one-second increments around the outer perimeter of the dial, a nod to John Arnold's historical marine chronometers.The entire dial assembly rests upon a striking NAC grey-treated mainplate finished Côtes de Genève.
The reverse side reveals the in-house caliber A&S6018 which operates at a frequency of 4Hz and delivers approximately 45 hours of power reserve. The movement is automatic winding by means of a skeletonized rotor crafted in 18 karat red gold.
The 18 Karat Red Gold case measures 44mm x 12.6mm x 49.5mm lug-to-lug. Furnished on an OEM brown alligator strap with Arnold & Son 18 karat red gold pin buckle. Complete with Box & undated Papers... original owner purchased the watch when brand new February 2023.
