Introducing: Sherpa Watches

I am very proud to present the second brand of watches to the Horology By The Sea lineup, Sherpa watches by the incredible Martin Klocke.
There are so many reasons why Sherpa watches are a natural fit for a store “By The Sea”.
Sherpa watches are unabashedly inspired by the iconic Super Compressor watches with EPSA cases from the late Sixties to early 1970s. These divers were the best of both worlds - supreme technical engineering married with aesthetics that perfectly captured the flare of the golden age of Dive Watches. In terms of the Engineering, EPSA was able to develop a watch sealed only to the pressure needed by the wearer at that moment in time. Meaning, the watches became more watertight as one dove deeper, and with reduced (but more than satisfactory) water tightness while in shallow depths or walking around on land. The benefit to this approach was a lesser amount of constant pressure exerted on the gaskets. Back in the day before gaskets themselves had improved, gaskets experiencing the pressure of a case sealed to 300M were destined to give out quicker than ones rated to 30M. This is where the genius of EPSA came to play, who was able to provide a reliable product to the majority of the most iconic watch brands of the day.
Okay, that’s great, but why Sherpa over all the other dive watch brands out there? When we speak about Horology By The Sea, we are really talking about the Author. My personal favorite dive watches have always been with the “Super Compressor layout”. This layout doesn’t necessarily make a watch a genuine Super Compressor, but don’t worry, as Sherpa is one of the bonafide few.
In my view, the most visually pleasing implementation of a bezel is that of one which is “Inner Rotating” which gives the illusion of a dial extending even farther across the diameter of the case. An additional benefit being the bezel can never sustain damage as it is permanently protected underneath the sapphire crystal.
As you might expect, I've added a trio of Sherpa to the family collection! Yours truly gives much wrist time to the OPS and the TRTS x OPS, while my wife won't take off her Ultradive. All three are available for private viewing by appointment, as well as pieces which are in stock and available for immediate purchase here.
The youngest employee of Horology By The Sea loves them, too!
There are many many aspects of the Sherpa brand I have not touched on so I invite you to visit www.sherpawatches.com, do your Googles and visit the numerous fabulous articles such as https://www.fratellowatches.
If you have any questions about the product please do not hesitate to reach out.
Cheers,
Brandon
